R&A change Amateur Status rules on hole in one prizes

Ground breaking news has emerged from the Royal and Ancient this week when the decision was announced which allows Amateur golfers to accept prizes for hole-in-one without a limit on value.

From January 2012, any amateur to hole in one, on one of our insured prize hole’s will be free to accept a hole-in-one prize OF ANY VALUE with no change to their amateur status.  At last cars, boats, holidays and houses can be accepted by an amateur golfer for their shot of a lifetime, without the cloud of having to relinquish their amateur status.

Commenting as part of the Royal and Ancient Press Release, Major Winner and R&A Golf Ambassador Suzann Pettersen, said: “I think this is a really good change. Anyone who makes a hole-in-one knows there is a degree of luck”.  “Most professional tournaments offer hole-in-one prizes and it adds some real interest for the players and the fans. It is great to think that club golfers can now experience that same excitement”

WorldWide Hole ‘N One couldn’t agree more. For decades now we have been building a loyal, worldwide customer base who trust us to deliver a unique and bespoke Hole-In-One Insurance package to enhance any golf day regardless of size or budget.
