Ace at Club Centenary AmAm WINS Citroen DS3

Blackmoor Golf Club was founded in 1913 & is one of the finest golf clubs in Hampshire; Designed by Harry Colt & rated 73rd of the UK’s Top Courses. This year the club is celebrating it’s Centenary Year, which has been honourably Captained by Nigel Everett, who has helped to make this a truly momentus year. Plans were set for a week long AmAm this Summer, which certainly proved to be more successful than they could have imagined..

Simon Burton, Club Secretary approached Worldwide Hole ‘N One with regards to adding some extra special prizes to the final day of the event. Linking up with local dealership, LMC Citroen of Farnham, they offered players a fantastic main prize of a shiny New Citroen DS3 as well as the fantastic golf holidays & golf clubs that complete this year’s All New Prize Package.

The exciting week long event was organised by John Moore who invited players from some of the many neighbouring clubs to join in with the Centenary Celebrations & to bring a welcoming & friendly mix to play on the final day.

And what a final day Friday, 28th July proved to be. The second team to hit the sunny fairways certainly found themselves in the centre of the Centenary celebrations. Teeing off at the 15th hole from 198 yards on this stunning course was Neil Devery of Newbury & Crookham Golf Club. Prize for a hole in one on this hole was a Citroen car worth £15,000, Neil tried to pretend it was just like any other par 3, before taking his shot.

He quotes ‘I struck the ball which travelled perfectly up towards the slightly raised saucer shape green. It was high, perfectly in line into the wind, the ball then slowly dropped and disappeared from sight. It was a shot of sheer class, even if I say it myself!’ Team mate James Foster commented ‘That’s in, the ball is in!’

Neil couldn’t wait to tell his wife Karen about his achievement that evening. When she asked how the day had gone he said ‘Pretty well, I got a hole in one! Karen replied ‘Well how much did that cost us then?’ He replied, the hole in one fund paid for the drinks, oh & I won a prize. He proceeded to gleefully show her his pre searched i-pad displaying the picture of the amazing Citroen DS3; his just reward for his amazing hole-in-one on the 15th, Karen was speechless!

Neil’s Citroen DS3 was presented at Blackmoor Golf Club by Tom Wheeler of LMC of Farnham &. Karen Jennings, Manager of Golf of Worldwide Hole ‘N One.

Thank you to Nigel Everett, Club Captain (pictured here with winner Neil), John Moore, Event Organiser, Simon Burton Club Secretary who welcomed us to the club for this memorable presentation. One that will certainly be part of Blackmorr Golf Club Centenary history for many years to come!
