Extreme Golf Hole In One

Sunday 22nd July saw the amazing Fiemme Final for a ‘Hole in One’, a unique European sporting event organised by Trekkingolf, who provide a weekend full of golf challenges in San Martino di Castrozza, Predazzo, Italy.  These included a 9 hole round of golf, using just one selected club and a chipping competition into the open roof of a Porsche Boxter!

The biggest challenge of all though was the Grand Finale, at The World Cup Ski Jump as the climax to the Trekkingolf event. Sponsored by Porsche Italia, the gleaming prize of a brand new Porsche Boxter S was parked, ready and waiting to be won, at the back of the green if anyone could hole in one from the top of the 139m ski jump.

It was stunning mountain location for a unique event.  The adrenaline was running high for the contestants and the awaiting crowds, who stared with anticipation up to the top of the 139m Ski Jump, eagerly waiting for the first ball of this daredevil driving contest to drop towards the green.  The ball flight was an average 250m down to the purpose built green, quite a decision for club selection!

The event was an amazing success as an astonishing 1 in 3 shots landed on the green and one was actually within a foot of a hole-in-one!  What an amazing shot from that height and distance.

As well as providing a great day for the spectators and contestants this spectacular golf challenge gave Porsche Italia a unique opportunity to use hole-in-one insurance from Worldwide Hole ‘N One to showcase their new Porsche Boxter S in a truly extreme and exciting way. As well as Sky Sports covering the event, Italian newspaper, La Gazette dello Sport featured it, so a great result all-round with a very near WIN!
