Shotgun Start for The Grove in 2012

What is it that makes a corporate golf day truly memorable for you? Is it the sweeping fairways? The first-class staff who look after you from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave? Is it your GPS yardage system or the live electronic scoring? If we had our way, we would say all of these would make our day.

The Grove, a five-star hotel resort in Hertfordshire, gives you just that and more. For those of you who have been lucky enough to play a round on the championship golf course, I’m sure the memory is as special today as the day you took your first tee shot on that amazing course.

Golf doesn’t get better than this, does it? Well actually, this year it will!

The Grove, in association with Worldwide Hole ‘N One, has added something truly unique to all of the Grove corporate golf experience shotgun days. Almost every shotgun event will offer golfers the chance to win an Audi car as part of their very own bespoke hole-in-one prize package. This amazing feature prize will be placed on the stunning par-3 signature 4th hole, which plays a modest 167 yards over water.

Worldwide Hole ‘N One has worked to provide a bespoke package that offers an amazing marketing opportunity to local car dealership Watford Audi, Part of the Spire Automotive Group.

Sarah Norton, of Group Marketing, already has a strong and successful business relationship with The Grove whose demographic lends itself perfectly to the Audi brand so this seemed like a natural progression.

Worldwide Hole ‘N One is proud to launch this marketing initiative in association with both The Grove and Watford Audi, both very credible and local companies and we believe it is a very exciting project.

Golf sales manager Karen Jennings commented: “I am really looking forward to what it will bring for hole in one insurance in 2012″. “These hole-in-one golf insurance packages open the way for unlimited marketing and sales opportunities for the venue and the dealership”.

“If that’s not enough the approximately 3,000 golfers will take a shot at winning a once-in-a-lifetime prize”.

The Grove, the first golf venue in the UK to offer its very own exclusive hole-in-one package, has worked with us on every detail. Each prize has been tailored to The Grove Experience with additional par-3 hole-in-one prizes, including a 2-day stay at the country estate including dinner and golf, pro-shop vouchers and a very exclusive association with the Cotswolds’ visiting tailor, shirtmaker and tailor Barrington Ayre.

Tom Wharton heads up this unique operation offering bespoke, made-to-measure, and ready-to-wear clothing, all made in England, from country clothing to golf trousers, wedding suits and more. A perfect fit with the historic feel to The Country Manor Estate Experience.

The history of the first house at The Grove dates back to the 1500s. In 2004 with the help of English Heritage, landscape gardeners and golfers, the new Grove, with its stunning golf course, emerged.

It was just 2 years later that Tiger Woods won the World Championship at The Grove. We are proud to be part of this new piece of history in helping to create a championship tournament feel to every corporate golf day played this year at The Grove.

May many a great memory and, very possibly, may many a great car be driven away from the most memorable golf day of the year …
